Amid boom in illegal farmhouses, trees vanish from Aravali land

Illegal construction and tree felling continue in the protected Aravali land of Raisina hills in Gurgaon, despite regulations prohibiting it. The area, designated as 'uncultivable hill', is protected under the Punjab Land Preservation Act and the Aravali Notification of 1992. Locals have reported trucks bringing rocks and chopping trees to make way for new farmhouses. Despite previous rulings by the National Green Tribunal, illegal construction and encroachments persist.
