Palestinian Authority cannot be allowed to take control of Gaza after Hamas is routed, says Israel

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected proposals to allow the Palestinian authority to take control of Gaza after Israeli forces remove Hamas from power. Netanyahu stated that Gaza must be demilitarized and deradicalized, and so far, no Palestinian force has proven capable of achieving this. Many analysts believe the Palestinian authority is the most suitable candidate to take over interim control of Gaza, but Netanyahu strongly opposes this. There are concerns that Israel may be positioning itself to take over military control of Gaza once again.
