A special court has sentenced Sanu Mohan to life imprisonment for the murder of his 10-year-old daughter, Vaiga, two years ago. Mohan, who confessed to the crime, had planned to take his own life after killing his daughter. In addition to the life sentence, he was also given a cumulative 28-year imprisonment for other offenses. Mohan deceived his wife and relatives, intoxicated Vaiga, suffocated her, and disposed of her body in a river before fleeing to Coimbatore.
