NIA sleuths arrived in Jammu's Poonch to investigate the terrorist ambush on army vehicles that killed four soldiers. The banned People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF), a Pakistan-backed group, claimed responsibility for the attack. The terrorists used US-made M40 rifles and took positions on hilltops. The situation in the Jammu region is a cause for concern, with a decrease in terrorist activity in the Kashmir valley and shifting of troops to the LAC with China being cited as possible reasons for the increase in attacks.
